Cover to Cover

I have heard many people say:

"I have read the Bible from cover to cover"

I commend these people. Sadly, this does not describe me. Although, I am pretty sure I have read the entire Bible by gathering the pieces from here and there that I have read, I cannot say I have read the Bible from cover to cover.

This has to change.

It's not that I haven't tried. I have started many times in the Book 0f Genesis trying to work my way to Revelations. However, I usually stop when I reach a set of genealogy.

As a way of holding my self accountable and keeping myself motivated, I decided to do the following:

1) I will begin reading the New Testament and moving to the old. That is one of the great things about this Holy Book. Reading in this manner will not hamper my understanding in any way.

2) I will be posting some thoughts and things that I have learned to this blog.

3) I will be sending some of the things I find via email to those that I feel would feel as if they benefit from some meditations on scripture.

I have been doing this for about a week now. My posts will start with today's reading of the Word. However, I will write about my previous readings this week.

Such wonderful things have been reminded to me in the reading of the Book of Matthew. I pray that I can stay focused and dedicated to remembering God's Word every day.
